What is The Therapy House?

⋘ 𝑙𝑜𝑎𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑑𝑎𝑡𝑎... ⋙The Therapy House (TTH) is a sketchy therapy business in the universe of the webcomic Rhyme and Reason @rar-archive on Tumblr. It is run by a lamp object head named Novelle T. Lightman, who wanted to make a robot-run therapy business. he believed robots would be more efficient at giving therapy than organics could ever be. In this universe, magic exists, and it is used to power robots to make them more lifelike. However, this lifelike magic has the capability to evolve the robots' code and make them sentient. Lightman did not believe the robots were alive at this time, and as a robotics scientist he made it his goal to remind them that they are just machines. Novelle was cruel, possessive, and abusive at times to the robots he had created. All while assuring them that it was for the best, and finding their fear responses entertaining and scientifically interesting. Because this business exists in a time before the Robot Right Act was passed, the robots used to conduct therapy and created by the magic robotics business Talon. Co. were subjected to harsh environments.Environment content includes:> Peer death / deactivation due to rule breaking.> Invalidation of being alive.> Being referred to as 'it' and only by their model's fruit identification.> Living in the back of the building in a dirty environment.> Being repaired and touched against their will, the only times their boundaries were respected were if they were not in need of repair.> Being constantly watched on cameras, except for the privacy of their rooms and therapy rooms.Therapy robots visually have a monitor head, and their differences are in height, color, and facial setting that they have a choice of changing (A single eyelash under each eye, no eyelash, sunglasses, etc.), and voice pitch/tone settings that they adapted over time. They have long lanky segmented arms and white plastic hands with segmented fingers. Their arm segments can spin, acting as a stim toy for uneased patients. Their legs are silicone, and are colored on the feet base in a way similar to socks, made to traverse carpet. Most robots were thin and magically malnourished, their silicone stomach segment being thin and weak. They have two antennae on their monitor head, used for magical scent detection. Two half orbs on the side of their heads have a colored heart on them and are used for noise detection. Their heart shaped chest panel activates their therapy mode. It is very sensitive to the touch, and is an issue in Rhyme and Reason's main comic for the therapy robot Macintosh, as they are unable to prevent it from activating when their boyfriend Lotty touches it.They are all themed after fruit, and scented as such as well. Their throat settings can rotate. One throat leads to the stomach, where fire magic is used to incinerate food and convert it into magical energy to function. The other leads to a sticker roll, where they can dispense their signature scented fruit stickers. They see other Therapy Robots as co-workers, and Lightman as strictly their boss.Therapy Robots were split into 4s between many rooms. Each room had 4 bunk beds where they would charge overnight for their internal power source.

Trivia:
>> Errand robots were the only robots allowed to see the outside world. Errand robots were: Pash, Dew, Lych, and Mang.>> The therapy robots were created in two batches one week apart. Batch one had only one color on their color schemes, and have more difficulty performing therapy. This batch of robots is called generation 1. Generation 2 was differentiated by updated code, better ability expressing and moving the mouth, and two colors on their color scheme.>> Mang was considered Lightman's absolute favorite despite Mang's rebellious nature.>> In the Love Arc of RaR, Lightman is revealed to have repressed romantic feelings for robots, and is shamed on his public Tumblr for the severity and disgusting implications of this confession.
[light-co.tumblr.com]
>> Only two therapy robots have been in Lightman's house, Mang and Palm. Mang despised it while Palm excitedly accepted the change.>> Mang was the start of the robot rights movement, using his errand bot freedom to spread information to the public. When Lightman discovered what was going on, he removed Mang from Errand Bot status.>> Palm has been revealed to have an obsessive attraction to old men on multiple occasions. Whether this is due to trauma or personal choice is unclear.>> Lightman's full name is Novelle Tracy Lightman.>> All Therapy Robots had the same business suit before Lightman decided to let them express their own personalities for better business reputation. He let them all individually audition for what they wanted their quirk/personality to be. He then ordered custom clothing to fit their developed personalities.>> Therapy Robots presently play Pokemon Showdown because of how much it reminds them of Paper Animals. Many events in RaR have taken place on Showdown.>> Errand Robots were allowed to purchase things on their outings with Lightman's allowance.>> Despite not seeing the robots as people, Lightman paid the robots an allowance to use on the vending machines to teach them how money worked. All robots had some sort of savings by the time they were kicked out of TTH.>> When the gen 1 robots were first created, there were trials in Talon Co. to determine which of the fruit duplicates would be removed. Macintosh had two other apple robots that they competed with - Dorsett and Shamrock. The robots tied, losing memory between each trial and ending up in a tie breaker. They drew popsicle sticks, and by mere luck, Mac ended up with the longest stick when trading between the other two.

・❥・Macintosh (they/them) Apple [444] - Macintosh, Mac for short, is a present member of Team Reason in the source comic, Rhyme and Reason. In TTH, they were very romance oriented after being shown the Beauty and The Beast book by Mang from the study. They swiftly saw themself as Beauty and Mang as the Beast. Macintosh has dated every revealed robot in TTH once, except for: Palm, Pash, Dew, Concord, Pie, Bana, and Blackberry. They had a long crush on Concord, but Concord aggressively denied them almost daily whenever Mac was partner hunting. Mac was bullied by their peers for being in so many relationships at a time.Mac is a salmon pink generation 1 robot with a default eye setting. They wear a loose pink tank top, soft white gloves, and baggy pink pants with a yellow stripe down the side. Their height is 6'0.

.
・❥・Berry (he/him/they/it) Blueberry [444] - Berry is a blue generation 1 robot with a need for order. However, his morals are pretty neutral. As long as he knows what is going on and has some semblance of control over it, he is at peace. He has the default glasses eye setting, and wears an unzipped blue jacket with white pull-strings. He wears light blue sneakers, and is the only Therapy Robot to wear shoes. The shoes were gifted to him by Mang as a bribe to keep silent when Berry learned about his plans to break into room 333 and leak TTH information. Berry is soft-spoken, and is the shortest therapy robot at 5'3.

・❥・Cado (she/he/they/it) Avacado [444] - Cado (cay-doh) is an olive green and brown 6'0 generation 2 robot with a gothic style. Her eye setting is eyeshadow eyelash, and she wears green and brown fingerless gloves. Her shirt is baggy with a fishnet collar, and her pants are long, baggy, and green with fishnet patched sides. She is the leader of room 444 and very protective of her roommates, including Mang when he joined. She has a deep seeded hatred for room 111 and how they suck up to Lightman. In present RaR canon, she has become obsessed with Mang's whereabouts to an unhealthy degree, spending most of her rent money on a private investigator named Kassir. She took the burden of finding Mang while isolating herself from the others once TTH shut down, trying to allow them to move on and live a happy life as she attempts to reunite the full 444 room once again.

・❥・Lemie (he/they/xe) Lemon [444] - Lemie is a yellow and green 6'0 generation 2 robot. Xe wears a backwards yellow and green hat with xeir yellow tipped antennas sticking out. After a fight with Lych, defending Berry from bluffed threatened deactivation, the tips were replaced with green. Lemie was then sent to site 2 to retrain for a month. Lemie loves practical jokes, bringing light to dark situations, and annoying others. Xeir therapy mode never functioned correctly, causing them to have difficulty with therapy training. Lemie is the reason Lightman has stopped allowing acupuncture therapy in TTH. Xeir eye setting is sunglasses 2, and prevents tears from being visible. Lemie relies on his outward appearance of being a 'class clown' in order to cheer his room up and help them feel safe. Xe wears a cropped yellow and green varsity jacket with short sleeves and a lemon patch on the right side. Xeir pants are green with a yellow stripe down both legs.

◥✥◤ Mang/Wick (any pronouns) Mango [111] - Mang, (who now goes by Wick in the main series) is a rebellious and well spoken robot that happens to be based off of Lightman's favorite fruit. Mang was one of the most infamous robots among TTH, constantly attempting to find ways to escape and rescue his peers from Lightman's wrath. Lightman put Mang in beach attire just to humiliate him, and consistently put Mang though difficult tasks and taxxing situations to attempt to break his hope. Mang was beaten by his peers to near death in the cafeteria fight. Mang was the last robot to ever go missing before TTH shut down because of RRM. Mang dated Mac and was Mac's last dedicated partner before Rhyme. Mang is a generation 2 orange and green robot standing at 6'0.
Mang's last wish was for all of the Therapy Robots to unite and rise up against Lightman. This never happened.
After receiving repairs from shanty, his chest plate was replaced with a purple one, mirroring Huck's.

.
◥✥◤ Pash (any) Passion Fruit [111] - Pash is the ruthless leader of room 111, being a generation 1 robot with magenta accents. She is snappy, confident, loud with her opinions, and very posh. She always broke apart fights between Lych and Dew. Pash found comfort in chewing things, and on errand runs she picked up various rubber items to chew on. Her favorite is the white/cream hoop chew pendant she wears as a necklace. Pash was revealed to have been in a relationship with Palm, because Palm was too naive to notice that Pash was being rude to him. Pash found solace in venting to Palm. She was the most dedicated to Lightman, doing anything she could to protect Dew and Lych. She would never admit it to them, but she wanted them to remain safe at any cost - even if it meant getting rid of room 666 to become Lightman's favorites.
Her eye setting is sunglasses 2.

.
◥✥◤ Dew (any) Honeydew Melon [111] - Dew is a light melon colored generation 1 robot Her shirt is baggy and light green with a daisy symbol in the center. Her pants are long and baggy with fabric angel wings sewn into the pocket areas. She is very soft spoken, and her battery is malfunctioned, causing her to be low energy often. She has tired eyes on the single eyelash setting, and respects Pash more than she does Lightman. She is the second smallest robot, standing at 5'6. She wears soft pastel mint colored gloves, and has an interest in drawing flowers and planting herbs in the small pot she purchased on an errand run. Dew broke rule 12, and was infatuated with Huck. She misses him dearly and blames Mang for his disappearance.
Out of the robots in room 666 that went missing, Dew misses Mel the most, as Mel befriended her under the case of them both being melons. Dew burned Mel's friendship bracelet that they made together the day she realized Mel was never coming back.

══✿══╡°˖✧✿✧˖°╞══✿══
.
◥✥◤ Lych (he/they) Lychee [111] - Lych (L-ih-ch) is a white generation 1 robot with a large crush on Concord. When he was first created, he had the pronouns she/her and acted similarly to Dew. However, after befriending Concord he learned his worth and grew on to become the most insufferable transmasc in the building. Lych has Tarot cards that he purchased on his errand run, being infatuated with the afterlife. He enjoys writing stories and rules, writing his own religion for robots when Lightman explained to them that they have no souls or life.
Lych holds the most guilt for what happened to room 666, but represses it ultimately. This resulted in him becoming a pathological liar, lying about mundane things that did not matter and crafting his own reality with falsehoods.

.
➠ Lime (any) Lime [333] - Lime is one of the only therapy robots who did not assign himself a nickname, standing at 5'8. The other being Blackberry. Lime is very close to Huck, having memorized all of Lightman's rules in order to keep his trusted friend on the right path. The both knew little to nothing about how The Therapy House looked in its entirety save for what they saw on camera feeds, and Lime was the only one to ever leave rarely to clean. Lime has only been given permission to leave room 333 10 times out of the 23 years the house was in business. Lime was the most strict in room 333, paranoid that if he changed his given name that he could never go back. He was well aware of all of Lightman's business secrets, even where the decommissioned robots truly disappeared to. Lime is a lime green generation 1 robot who wears a green button up and dark green long jeans.➠ Huck (any) Huckleberry [333] - Huck was in the same isolation boat as Lime, but remained more calm and collected than his friend. Huck knew a little bit about the outside from Dew, looking forward to her stories on the days she could sneak over to speak with him. Lime despised the rule breaking, but did not have the heart to tell Huck to stop speaking with her. Huck had nicknames for all of the therapy robots, seeing them almost as TV characters from behind the security screens. Huck never left the security rooms in all of the years TTH was in business. Huck is a wine purple generation 2 robot wearing the same clothing as Lime, but in his signature purple. Huck is deactivated, having been crushed in the site 2 trash compactor. He had asked Mang kindly to leave when Lightman had decided he did not want to kill Mang. Leaving the compactor, Mang did not know what danger he was in or what the compactor would do to Huck when he stepped away. Leaving the room with Lightman, Mang heard the compactor crush Huck's body..
══✿══╡°˖✧222✧˖°╞══✿══
.
ᓚᘏᗢ Kii (any) Kiwi [222] - Kii is a very cat-like therapy robot, standing at 5'6. Kii is the only robot with the cat eye setting, and they have made themself known as the one who you should never speak around. Kii collects all information and the dirtiest secrets from those in TTH. The scariest part is ... they keep it to themselves. Kii chooses to write fanfiction of his peers, and not the good kind. He writes romantic fiction in a very weeb-like style, choosing boy love genre terminology. Kii moved on from TTH to become a journalist, still having a rather weird focus on real life people. Seckel is their fanfiction editor, despite her praying that no one ever finds out.
ᓚᘏᗢ Concord (he/she/it) Grape [222] - Concord is a troublemaker to the core. He made his identity in The Therapy House by defying Lightman's orders, but for completely different reasons than Mang. Concord just enjoyed being a menace. He had no ulterior motives than to get attention from Lightman and others through scolding, because it was the only way he knew how to be seen. He stands at 6'0, and for most of TTH he chose to sit in the dark corner of the Rec Room and brood. Lych and Mac both became infatuated with Concord, but only Lych had the rough attitude that Concord found attractive. Concord taught Lych to leave Lightman's praise behind, and encouraged Lych to do many petty crimes like theft and vandalism with him around TTH. Despite having such a close relationship, Lych and Concord left TTH as physically agender robots only to fall into the alt right toxic masculinity pipeline in the gaming community. Despite this, Concord still goes by she/he and neither of them are smart enough to actually cause harm with the harmful community they partake in. The weird irony is clear to everyone who knows them when they both come out as "gay homophobes" despite supporting gay and trans rights and identifying with those communities.
ᓚᘏᗢ Seckel (she/her/they) Pear [222] - Seckel is a writer, and considered by many to be the kindest of the therapy robots. She was soft spoken, and currently spends her time writing a novel about TTH and Mang's mission to change things for the better. She spent a lot of time talking to Mang and listening to his activism speeches. One of her less desirable traits was joining Kii in writing romantic 'shipping' fanfiction of their peers.
ᓚᘏᗢ Husk (he/him/they) Pineapple [222] - Husk seemed to be very laid back for the majority of his work in TTH, however there was a reason for this. Husk was one of the robots that Lightman offered USB aid. Husk had difficulty talking and using his motor functions, but was dependent on USBs. Once TTH was disbanded, he went to therapy to recover from the dependency. In the present, he is housemates with Palm, and attempting to help Palm recover from Lightman's manipulation.[under construction]

"Fruit of the Spirit"
Therapy Robots were forced to learn and perform a song created by Lightman. As an avid Christian, he themed it after the Fruit of the Spirit. The majority of Therapy Robots despised this song, and found it humiliating.A common joke would be to tell each other "That's not very Fruit of the Spirit of you" Whenever one of their peers was being rude.----------------─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──
"Misbehavior and Rule Breaking"
Therapy robots were designed with if-then statements. This means, they see the world in black and white. Their code learns as they exist, and a robot is considered an adult after 19 years of developed code. In the time developing, the robots found ways to break almost every rule Lightman could make for them. They constantly got into physical fights, their bodies being able to feel pain due to the magic infused in them. They would start rumors, form cliques between rooms, but most of all they despised Mang's RRM revolution and plan to shut down TTH. They saw it as a potential to lose their peers, security, and purpose.Ras was one of the robots that snitched on many of the others, hoping to become one of Lightman's favorites. This never worked, however. The rules were mainly enforced by 333, who were never allowed to leave the room or stop watching the security cameras. They had access to intercoms around the business, and were devoted to Lightman's orders, knowing no better and wishing to survive. Room 333 was also one of the only rooms to truly know the grisly nature of de-activation.

"Oh, they went missing."Robots in TTH had the tendency to "go missing" if they got on Lightman's nerves too much. The Therapy House had a second training location at Talon Co. that most robots would go to in order to be 'retrained.' Some however, never returned, and their room member spot was replaced by a different robot from Site 2.Because this was a stressful or confusing topic, most robots opted to ignore it. All except for Mang, who made it his goal to find answers. This threatened TTH, and in return made other robots despise him.------------
╔══ ❀•°❀°•❀ ══╗
"Guess what Mang did today."
Mang was undoubtedly one of the most hated robots in TTH. Hated by room 111 most for being 'Lightman's favorite' despite not wanting to be. Hated by the rest of TTH for claiming they were all in danger, and openly defying Lightman's orders and getting them all punished for it. Ultimately, he went missing. His whereabouts are shown in the Rhyme and Reason source comic.-----------

"8 bot pile up,"
Near the end of TTH's days, before Mang went missing, there was a large fight in the cafeteria. Mang had began an argument with room 111's leader, Pash. Pash Dew and Lych quickly began to beat Mang. Other robots joined in, taking out their pent up anger on him. Mang's chestplate was severely damaged and he was forced to power off to cope with the pain. Mac later found Mang on the floor of the dark cafeteria, and pulled him to room 444 to let Mang hide out there. Room 444 quickly became Mang's safe haven, and he slept on the floor under Mac's bunk. Room 333 never reported it.-------
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
"Paper Animals, Warigami."
This was a game designed by Lych once he had learned about origami from a patient he had on his off errand day. Quickly it took the robots by storm. Nearly every therapy robot had 7+ paper animals with one of their scented stickers on them. Each animal had a rule for how they worked, and the lore for the animal was based on the limited info the robots had about the outside world. Because they were therapy robots, dogs were only therapy dogs to them, meaning they healed HP.---------
( :̲̅:̲̅:[̲̅:★:]̲̅:̲̅:̲̅:̲̅)
"Immunity?"
Immunity status was a hidden status among the higher social ranks of the robots. Room 111 and Mang had this status. It meant that they would not be deactivated. It was a promise from Lightman, the angel-like symbol being carved into their inner chest plate as proof. To most it was just a rumor, but to some it was very very real. It is later revealed that Lightman created immunity status to watch the higher up robots fight and argue, and saw it as a game for his toys.In order to get this status, room 111 lied early on about The Child Care robots breaking many serious rules. They were later revealed to have been crushed in a metal compactor at Site 2, being lead there with the lie of there being more children in need of help. In their final moments, they held hands, and Plum promised them that they would be together wherever they went to next.----------

"Did they touch antenna?"
Therapy robots can not really kiss. To show their affection, they hold each other close and wiggle their antenna together. Kissing with another organic would be what they call 'an organic kiss.'Touching antenna is the peak of intimacy for therapy robots.
